What you should know
about pet crates
The
size of your pet is one of the top factors that determines what kind of pet travel crate you'll buy. Make sure your pet can comfortably stand, lie down
and turn around in it. Also make sure the crate isn't too large for
your pet. Crates that leave too much space may provoke Princess to
leave behind some unwanted surprises.
Don't be alarmed if your dog doesn't take to the crate immediately.
Your dog will gradually adjust with time and proper training. You may
even get to the point where your dog no longer needs a crate. Remember
that grown dogs should not be left in pet crates for more than eight
hours a day, and puppies should be let out every three or four hours.
Always keep the crate clean; do not leave your dog in a soiled crate.
If your dog continues to soil its crate, it's probably a sign that
you're neglecting its bathroom breaks.
Lend a hand with dog steps
Is
your dog in need of pet steps (or pet stairs)? Pet steps can be an
excellent help around the house for dogs. For pets or even owners with
physical limitations, dog steps can help them get around, and owners
get their dogs where they need them to be. In addition to injured dogs,
dogs with obesity problems and dogs that jump into bed with you at
night may benefit from dog steps. Dogs that jump up and down to reach
the couch and those that need you to pick them up to get somewhere
could also use pet stairs. Purchasing a set of pet stamps or even a pet
steps dog ramp will not only help your dog get where he needs to be,
but you'll be safeguarding him from a potential bad accident as well.
